Take me out to the ballgame... It was the year 2001, when Jack joined the Claremont Little League T-Ball division, he was "drafted" by coach Wade from the Boston Red Sox.
Jack played every year, from t-ball 2001 to juniors 2010, and yes, mom saved every photo button and display them for all to see!
Physically not being ready to play baseball this year, Jack still had the desire to be close to the game. After a few days of Tom and I praying and talking with Jack, he decided that mentoring younger kids, in the game he loves, was something he wanted to do. The bright light in my son's eyes and the smile on his face was such a beautiful sight. Without hesitation, I picked up the phone and called our family friend, Ralph, who happens to be the Claremont Little League Vice President. Ralph was instrumental in presenting Jack's proposal at a CLL board meeting and for making his goal of mentoring kids a reality. On Saturday, January 15th, Jack assisted with the tryouts for the 2011 Spring baseball season. He will be assisting Coach Ray with 9 and 10 year old kids.
Physical therapy continues to be a great source of encouragement for Jack. I'm only allowed to drop him off at the front door (Jack's orders, he's too old for mom to come in with him), but Aaron has him working out with weight machines, and his pinky finger looks great.
We ask that you continue to pray for Jack's healing.
God Bless you Ralph & Diane.
