Jack's Hand - No Fear

UPDATE... just received a call regarding pathology report.

Dr. Federman called.  The pathology report on Jack's amputated finger showed clear margins and no sign of cancer.  We are still awaiting the results of the soft tissue; however, Dr. Federman is extremely confident in the outcome of those results as well.  In fact, Dr. Federman's exact words to me were: 

"THE CANCER IS OUT OF JACK"

It's been 1 week since Jack's surgery and he is doing AWESOME.  He attended school everyday, with the exception of Thursday, because of a post op doctor's appointment at UCLA.  Jack only asked for pain medication one day this week and that was due to all the writing in order catch up on missing school work.  And yes, he is writing with his right hand.

At his post op appointment with Dr. Eckardt, the bandages were removed from Jack's hand.  This was one of the very few times Jack expressed any sadness; otherwise, he has been very strong throughout this life-changing experience.  We are still waiting on the pathology report which should be ready any day.

We continue to ask God for his blessings upon Jack and thank everyone for their prayers.

There is still a lot of swelling but with therapy, Jack's pinky finger and middle finger will eventually move closer together.
